New Albany Estate Planning & Elder Law Attorney Steve Naville
Steve Naville’s practice focuses on estate planning, probate administration, trust preparation and administration, elder law, and Medicaid planning. Whether a client is looking to secure their family’s future through a will or trust, navigate the complexities of probate after the passing of a loved one, or develop a strategy for Medicaid and long-term care planning, my role as an attorney is to provide practical solutions to often deeply personal legal matters.
These are issues that every family will face at some point in their lives, and I consider it a privilege to help guide clients through these challenging moments. For many, estate planning is not just about legal documents—it’s about ensuring peace of mind, protecting loved ones, and preserving a legacy. In probate and estate administration, families often find themselves in an unfamiliar and emotional legal process, and I strive to make that process as smooth and efficient as possible. I provide individualized attention to each client’s matter, with a mind that there is not a one-size-fits-all solution.
Over my nearly 20 years in practice, I have learned that truly effective legal counsel requires more than just technical expertise—it demands an understanding of each client’s unique goals and concerns. Some clients may want to minimize court involvement and ensure their estate transitions smoothly to their heirs, while others may have a specific need, such as protecting assets from long-term care costs. By taking the time to listen and assess all available options, I help clients craft strategic and pragmatic plans that best serve their interests while anticipating potential challenges that may arise in the future.
I am a lifelong Indiana resident, licensed to practice in the state, and a member of the Indiana State Bar Association. I hold a J.D. from the Louis D. Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville and earned undergraduate degrees in Public Affairs and Economics from Indiana University Bloomington.
When I’m not practicing law, I enjoy spending time with my wife and three children. We love traveling together, playing games, and hiking in the beautiful Indiana outdoors. I was honored to be recognized as one of Louisville Business First’s 20 People to Know in Law, and I remain committed to serving my clients with professionalism, compassion, and strategic insight.
If you need legal assistance in estate planning, probate, or elder law, I welcome the opportunity to meet with you and discuss how I can help plan for you, your family, and loved ones.
